OUR WATERPOLO CHAMPS TAKE THE U15 SHAUN FUCHS TOURNAMENT CUP🏆The U15 Water Polo Girls spent the past weekend representing DSG at the prestigious Shaun Fuchs U15 invitational water polo tournament in Johannesburg.The tournament consists of the top twenty girls schools from around the country and is the highlight of the U15 Water Polo calender.DSG proved to be a strong force throughout the competition and had not lost a game going into the final. Their competitors, Reddam Constantia from Cape Town, were no match for the girls in green as DSG won the game 6 – 3.A massive thank you is to be extended to Mr de Villiers, Mr Gamiet and the first team girls for their support. As well as the parents who were in full force, supporting the girls all the way. Lastly to the coaching staff – thank you for the many hours and hard work put into this team. OUTSTANDING RESULTS FOR TOP ATHLETE EMMA KRUSEOn Saturday evening DSG’s athletics coach, Terri-lynn Penney, attended the Eastern Province Athletics Awards on behalf of Emma Kruse at the Boardwalk Conference Centre as Emma was on Half-term.Emma cleaned up at the awards, winning the following accolades:Female Athlete of the Year Track and FieldYouth Female Athlete of the Year Track and Fieldwas awarded Recognition of International Representativesand acknowledged as a national medal winnerEmma will compete in Eastern Province Athletics Championships on 12 March of March in the 1500m and 800m, then again at the South African Athletics Championships in Potchefstroom at the end of March.
