Junior School
Grades 4 - 7
“I believe that it is far more important to teach children how to think for themselves, rather than teaching them what to think. Our world is changing so fast that much of the curriculum we traditionally taught in Primary school is irrelevant to living and working in the 21st century by the time they leave high school. Teaching children how to analyse, problem-solve and make confident decisions is vital if we are to equip them for a successful future. Children learn when they are having fun and the knowledge they construct themselves, is more meaningful and better retained. To this end, children should be encouraged to explore freely, investigate thoroughly and grapple with problems to find solutions.”
- Jane Ritchie, Head of DSG Junior
From the minute you step foot on the DSG Junior School campus, it exudes pure joy and boundless energy. One cannot help listening in, or watching the activities taking place, in the hope that one might be lucky enough to absorb some of that magic and wonder.
DSG Junior encourages children to experiment, explore and fearlessly follow their curiosity, inspiring a passion for learning. DSG embraces individuality, identifying each child’s uniqueness, enabling them to understand their importance and value. In this safe, secure and nurturing environment, confidence inevitably soars – opening our girls up to a world of wonderful imaginings and endless possibilities.
